Uttarakhand: Past, Present and Future e-bog

The book attempts to study the demand for the creation of Uttarakhand State in the historical perspective of integration of princely States and formation and reorganisation of States and Union Territories. Section-I provides the profile of the proposed Uttarakhand state. Section-II indicates the backgrounders to the demand for the formation of Uttarakhand/Uttaranchal. Section-III indicates viability of proposed Uttarakhand State vis-a-vis seventeen states and Union Territories with a population of less than one crore. Section-IV describes the culture, economy, geography history etc., of all the eight hill district. Section-V relates to the contemporary reactions and responses from the cross-section of population. It also includes a chronology of significant events relating to demand for Uttarakhand. The book also includes a comprehensive bibliography on Uttarakhand.
