Mr. Alexandermet Idris Muhammad at Joe SegalsJazz Showcase in Chicago, IL,in the Fall of 1998, when he was writing free-lance for drum magazinepublications. Mr. Muhammad then resided in Austria. Uponpublication of the initial interview, both Muhammad and Alexanderwere living in New York City. The interviews continued. The resulthas been formatted into this book. Mr. Muhammad is now retired andliving in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Alexander is a professional drummer,living in Santa Fe, NM.
