The author's personal touchstones (Bob Dlan, John Lydon, Lou Reed and others) are mixed with his interviews and encounters as a Rolling Stone journalist (such as The Clash, Sinead O'Connor, Miles Davis and Keith Jarrett) and a sampling of critical indulgences.
