Relatives and friends are convinced she cannot take care of seven children living in the backwoods of Alabama so they want her to give some of the children away. As she experiences the situations in her family, she becomes more determined that she will make it. Crises such as illnesses, snake bite, a gun shot wound, a burn and polio strengthens her resolve and dependence on her loving and caring God.
