The book opens with a brief biographical sketch written by editor Horace E. Scudder. From there, this book is all Keats'. The poems are presented chronologically according to the date they were written, and are loosely organized into the categories of early poems, the poems of 1818-1819, and supplementary verse. In all, more than 100 poems written by Keats are included. The section of personal letters is even more extensive, featuring more than 200 letters, also authored by Keats.
