This book is a journal of E. C., the old groundskeeper as he goes about his life going to church, to work, to teaching tennis, to playing tennis, and to visiting his friends. He is a secretary writing the ideas, wishes, prayers, and reflections that come through his life. He thinks there is a reason these ideas and people come through his life.
