Although Slavery in The United States ended with the end of The Civil War, a newtype of bondage developed to reinforce the old status quo and the caste order. Consequently, freedom did not truly occur in The United States until after the work of CivilRights Activist, DR. Martin Luther King Jr., had been fi rmly entrenched with-in the society. Reinforcing the values of The Civil Rights Movement was the election to The Presidencyof Barak Obama. The irony of the Barak Obama win, however, is that Barak Obamais a Democrat. For from 1848 to the present day The Republican Party has been thepolitical home of most prominent minorities in The United States. The values of The CivilRights Movement have always been the values of The Republican Party. The biographies,therefore, within In Search of The Republican Party, are an attempt to recreate the roleof The Republican Party in securing Freedom, Liberty, Human Rights, and ConstitutionalGuarantees for the minorities.
