Unbeknown to others around the world, so many couples thought of it as their love link - ';our song'- this series is the first tale of two of them.Genevieve meets Reginald in Sydney, Australia at a forces dance months after peace has been declared. They fall in love as they dance to ';our song' ';I'll be seeing you'. A Gunner in the British navy, Reg is helping to ';mop up' the supplies and the last of the troops. He is sent back to Yorkshire, England to be ';demobbed' despite their blossoming love, and his fervent wish to stay in Sydney. In Halifax, England, life is bleak with food rationing and power outages. Reg and Gen exchange love letters as he tells of his desperation to return to Australia. Around the world, people are being repatriated to their home countries, filling ships and planes. Reg is unable to book any travel and is on a ';wait-list'.
