Professor Y. P. Singh, Ph.D.(Industrial Economics) is Head &Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics. Professor Singh, a gold medalist, has brilliant academic record with teaching and research experience of more than 3 decades. He has supervised 10 Ph.D., more than 30 M. Phil. students. And many more students are currently working under his supervision for Ph. D. in various areas of business. He is one of the founder members of Indian Financial Management Association and is the Vice-President of the Association. He has authored 3 books and two monographs and a number of research papers arid articles have been published in journals of rupute. He has presented several papers and chaired various technical sessions in seminars and conferences. He is Incharge, Profession al Development Activities in Commerce and has so far organised more than 20 refresher courses and summer institutes for college teachers of Indian Universities in the areas of Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Business Data Processing under the auspices of Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education, University of Delhi. He is a life member of Indian Commerce Association and was the executive member of the Association for the period 1996-1999. His areas of special interest are: Portfolio Management, and Quantitative Methods in Business.
