History of Assurbanipal, Translated From the Cuneiform Inscriptions e-bog

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The two books which I have most used in my translation are the Assyrian Dictionary of my friend Mr. E. Norris, and Fuerst's Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon. I differ in opinion from Mr. Norris as to the meaning of several Assyrian words; but the numerous examples and comparisons given in his, Dictionary make it a most valuable aid to Assyrian scholars. The printing of the present work has occupied about twelve months. It has been in the hands of Mssrs. Harrison and' Sons, who have spared ho expense to make it perfect and for its progress I am much indebted r to Mr. John Mabey, the compositor, who has so much skill in setting - up the Cuneiform types.
