Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. (i) A Journal written in French, which covers the principal years of his life (2) A narrative of events in 1745-46, which is now for the first time printed in this volume. With the exception of the Narrative, all Papers relating to the Wemyss family are in the possession of Mr. Wemyss, of Wemyss Castle, Fife.
