Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Only a small part of the material collected for the work has in reality been used in its preparation. As is known to many of the citizens, much material had been collected with the design of preparing pedigrees of many of the older families; but it was found that space could not be allowed for them, without unduly extending the size of the volume.
