In the broad domain between the Ohio River, the Mississippi, and the chain of northern lakes known of old as the Northwest Territory, this State comprehends most of the space between the Ohio River and Lake Erie; and usually is esti mated to be about two hundred miles square, an area of acres. The Domesday-book, or tax duplicate of the State, for the year 1883, Showed that acres of land were re. Turned in that year, to which the acres of the cities and towns should be added.
