This gentleman instantly manifested a deep interest in the genealogical enterprise and for warded an extensive manuscript comprising the authentic history and many statistics Of the far-away progenitors reaching back to the Scandinavian Viking days. In this treatise he alluded briefly to the English branches of the family and others early settled in Scotland.
