Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In the year 1900 the author became interested in the history of his own ancestry and, visiting the Public Library in Boston, was surprised to find how largely they had contributed to the pioneer work in Connecticut and especially in the founding of New Haven Colony. The accumulation of such material, during the last four years, has led to the conviction that it should be preserved in some enduring form and so arranged as to be of historical value not only to members of the Brockett family but to the general public.
