Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. This has been a work of many years, and still is necessarily imperfect, many branches of the family having moved to the far West or South where all trace of them has been lost. Others have died out entirely in the male line, which of course is the only one perpetuating the name. The work of following out the female branches has been deemed too arduous and unnecessary to pursue to any great length.
