Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Obsessed by the Conventions, I almost penned a conventional preface. But the spirit of perversity, which has descended upon me from so many Quaker ancestors, reasserted itself with customary unwisdom on this occasion also, and I intend to write as I wish rather than by precedent.
