Journey Through the Yemen e-bog

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. But very few words are necessary as a preface to this book, as more than once in its pages its objects are stated. An account of my journey through the Yemen appeared last autumn in a series of articles in the 'illustrated London N ews,' and it is with kind permission of the proprietors of that paper that some of the illustrations reappear here. Many of the illustrations, however, have not seen the light of day before. The chapter on the Yemen rebellion was published as an article in Blackwood's Magazine for February last.
