Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Such, at any rate, is the experience of the present writer after a close study of the Ethics during several years; and it is with the hope of contributing in some degree to the clearer appreciation of Plutarch's manifold activities in other directions, that an investiga tion into his religious views has been made the special object of the following pages.
