Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The greater part of the Author's direct controversy with the Rev. Mr Beaumont, is, however, properly thrown into the Appendix, because the work itself is formed upon a far more general plan than that of a mere answer to his publication. Indeed, in the Author's estimation, that gentleman's fluti Swedenborg was scarcely of sufficient importance to deserve an answer; but he was not sorry to use the opportunity af forded by it for placing the subjects it brings forward in their just light before the View of the public.
