Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. When I was requested by the Society to undertake the translation, the time allowed was so short that I fear the work is but imperfectly done. I have made a free rather than a literal translation; in some parts amplifying the original and in other parts curtailing it, so as to make the work more intelligible to foreigners. I am very much indebted to Mr. E. B. Lambert for his kind revision.
