Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. I cannot but think (and I say it with the utmost deference, as it involves some of the most refined and honourable feelings of human nature) that the doubts of conscientious brethren, respecting the propriety of committing Masonic investigations to writing, have tended to impede the study of Ma sonry, and have prevented the science from carry ing that conviction which an Opposite practice would have commanded.
