If, to quote a recent writer, it con tains a definite promise of deliverance which was won derfully fulfilled 8:25f.;l who is to set a limit of number to the predictive capacity, or will to reveal, of God? God, or the critics of God, which? For is it not evident that a man who asserts that the ultimate triumph of the kingdom of God is here made known, but that God could not have fore seen or foretold the course of events in the time of the Seleucid kings is gagging God, reducing Him to the limitations of humanity, and fixing for Him a periphery of knowledge and a radius of revelation beyond which He cannot, or must not, pass?
