Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Some of the articles, originally published in my Museum Bulletins, are now reproduced with additions. I may add that the chapter devoted to omens, evil eye, etc 18 intended only as a mere outline sketch of a group of subjects, which, if worked up in detail, would furnish material for a very bulky volume.
