Reconstruction in Arkansas, 1862-1874 e-bog

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. An effort has been made in this study to give due con sideration to all the forces and influences which appeared during these troubled years, but it has been necessary in the interest of proportion to subordinate the spectacular and the exceptional to the determining factors in the problem. On those aspects of reconstruction which were national in scope or common to the whole South, this study has been restricted to what affected the local situation in some appreciable measure.
