The city of Fall River, its successors or assigns, shall maintain and discharge towards the present rightful occu pants of the land conveyed or taken all duties that the Common wealth is lawfully required to perform as the successor of the Province of Massachusetts Bay. But said city if it take the land before described, and if it decide. And shall make suitable provision in the same buildings or in similar ones to be used by said occupants for a comfortable dwelling therein, and for safe and reasonable means of access thereto from the public road or highway.
