This is the first book dedicated to a better understanding of different styles of volcanism along a single volcanic arc. For each of the Aleutian volcanoes, a deformation model and the inferred magma plumbing system as well as relevant geophysical, geological and geochemical informatioan will be synthesized to provide insights into the volcanic system and its relation to nearby systems. For each Aleutian volcano, at least one high-resolution radar intensity image with unprecedented radiometric accuracy is presented to facilitate feature indentification and geomorphic studies. These images are being produced using a technique developed to incorporate information from multiple images to reduce noise and improve accuracy.
