The general arrangement of engravings adopted in the last edition has been retained, the engravings being classified and arranged alphabetically under the following subjects: Cars, Car-bodies, Car-body details, Car-furnishings, Trucks, Thick-details, Master Car Builder's Standards and Recommended Practice, Hand cars, Street-cars. Considerable new matter has been introduced under the subject of details Of separate parts Of car-bodies with their forms and dimensions. This includes the details Of parts of a box-car, a fiat-car. A gondola-car, a four-wheel caboose-car, a baggage-car, and details of several freight and passenger car-trucks. Vestibules have come into use since the issue of the last edition and are therefore a new subject in the Car Builder's Dictionary.
