Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Unfortunately there is no available picture of the original mill which, prior to 1852, was Operated by slave labor. The above photograph shows the mill as rebuilt during the Civil War, operating in conjunction with a cotton gin, saw mill, and grist mill. An old invoice used at that time boasts of spin dles engaged in the manufacture of sheetings, shirtings, cotton yarn, warps and plow lines.
