Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The Guide to the Spiritual Life, as it is called in this edition, although more immediately addressed to Directors of souls, may be used with advantage by all Christians who aspire to perfection. The author himself makes this remark in his Preface or Introduction. It is essentially a practical work, being intended to supply a defect which the author observed in the treatises of previous writers.
