His little book aims at quickening personal religion by recalling the lessons in the spiritual life which some of the great Masters of Devotion have left to us in their lives and in their writings. Next to the Bible itself, the lives of the Saints and their written counsel are the surest guides to holiness. Their experience is always an inspira tion. Their counsel never grows Old. But they are often too little known.
