Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. As to the remedy I suggest, those must judge of its efficacy who have patience enough to read this book; but I maintain that, whatever Opinions may be held of the value of the cure, there can be no doubt as to the urgency of the case. One last point I should like to urge. Once it is decided that there is a power for good in nu conscious therapeutics (and really I think few are hardy enough to deny it), is it not clear that no medical training can be complete that does not teach it? In the last chapter, under seven heads, I have shown how wide is the scope, and how great the interest, of the subject, and throughout the book I have urged its being systematically taught. And now to close with the usual explanations, which are specially needed here.
