Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. When the Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife, Fish and Wildlife Service, launched a special campaign in March 1960 to raise funds for the purchase of wetlands for migra tory waterfowl by a post season sale of the [959 - 60 issue of Federal duck stamps, this series of annual revenue stamps was brought into national focus. Although the 4-month campaign, designed to bolster sales that had declined during the regular hunting season, was aimed primarily at duck hunters and conservationists, it aroused widespread interest among stamp collectors, many of whom had not previously collected duck stamps. Numerous requests have been received from collectors for back ground information on these stamps. This booklet has been prepared to answer such inquiries as well as the many received from regular collectors for philatelic data.
