Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. As the records contained in Dr Crawford's first book, The Reality of Psychic Phenomena, made their first appearance in Light, which led to my personal acquaintance with the author, who, just prior to his tragic death, desired that I should assist in preparing the present work for the Press, I may perhaps be allowed a few prefatory words.<br><br>In his last letter to me (received after his untimely death) he explained that his collapse was due entirely to overwork, and he wrote:<br><br>My psychic work was all done before the collapse, and is the most perfect work I have done in my life. Everything connected with it is absolutely correct, and will bear every scrutiny. It was done when my brain was working perfectly, and it could not be responsible for what has occurred.<br><br>And in another part of his letter he said:<br><br>I wish to reaffirm my belief that the grave does not finish all.<br><br>These two extracts from a long and affecting letter may be appropriately quoted here.
