Powers that she never knew she possessed are revealed to her by her father, who is a shaman, and Nate, a friend from the past. They lead her to the underworld, where she discovers other shape-shifters like herself. Rae becomes involved in a battle between good and evil with the upper world and the underworld, and she ultimately controls who will win in the end.
