About the AuthorElizabeth Slenker is a retired college professor who has exchanged two-legged students for four-legged learners. She taught in a small college and wore many hats in her position. Since retirement, she spends time training her dogs, volunteering, and creating art. She takes her certified therapy dog to visit patients in the hospital and to public libraries where children read to the dog. Elizabeth paints in watercolor, works in stained glass, and creates logos and designs. Her art decorates homes across the United States. She loves to paint animals and gets lots of inspiration from the antics of her dogs. Elizabeth holds a one-person exhibition every year. The most recent featured animals reflected in water. She has had the pleasure of raising six Boston terriers, each one distinctive in character and temperament. Her most recent Boston terrier, Belle, has inspired this story.
